Getting a Puppy
Our Puppies
Our puppies’ health and well-being is of the utmost importance to us, and our puppies only go to approved homes. We reserve the right at anytime to refuse a puppy to a family if they don’t meet our requirements. This means we are comfortable you will provide our puppy with exceptional health care, love, exercise, nutrition and a sound and secure environment to thrive.
All our puppies are born and raised in our home, creating a family environment right from the beginning of their lives. We fill our puppies hearts with love from the moment they are born and expose them to everything a home includes, children, cats, other dogs, TV, vacuum etc.
Our puppies leave here with awakened souls, and these are just some of the strategies we take to get them to this point.

Our imprinting and socialisation programs
We are one of the only few Labrador Breeders who imprint with the Early Neurological Stimulation Program.
We also use a Sound Desensitisation Program that we have developed over many years. This creates well rounded, easy going puppies, that’s stay calm in situations that may otherwise make them anxious. We expose our puppies to 30 min tires of trigger sounds per day.

Stage 1
To encourage our puppies neurological growth and development, we start this imprinting process at day 3 of our puppies lives. This gives our puppies a superior advantage in life.
Benefits of Early Neurological Stimulation include:
- Improved cardio vascular performance
- Stronger heart beats
- Stronger adrenal glands
- More tolerance to stress
- Greater resistance to disease.
-
Stage 2
Once puppies are 4 to 5 weeks of age our puppies enjoy time in our outdoor puppy nursery.
This is a safe area for our puppies to explore and develop multiple skills sets with balance boards and climbing stones for coordination development, small tunnels for perception and awareness and toys including our interactive singing & dancing toys for enrichment, startle desensitisation and confidence building.
-
Stage 3
Stage 3 begins at 6 weeks of age and includes our puppies graduating to our puppy enrichment playground. This is a much larger space to play and interact with our older dogs. And they are introduced to water play, sand pits, bigger tunnels, toys and our sensory obstacle course.
We also lay the foundations for obedience training and begin crate training before they leave us.
-
Sohalispirit runs as a pack so we have the unique opportunity to raise our puppies with their elders which equips them with an incredible understanding of social awareness and boundaries and a respect they can’t gain from anything else but a pack hierarchy .
We believe animals enrich the human life in many wonderful ways and we are delighted to be able to change every life that receives one of our puppies.
If you feel a Sohalispirit Puppy is the right fit for your family please contact us for further information about upcoming litters, appointments and an application forms.

-
Once approved we will give you regular updates on upcoming litters or send you a letter of offer if puppies are on the ground.
Puppy selection
We match our puppies to our families. This is to make sure our puppies get the life they require and you get a family member that has the characteristics your wanting.
Our selection process begins when puppies start showing behavioural traits. We observe, play, interact and evaluate each puppy, we monitor personalities, physical abilities, intelligence, social behaviour and energy levels.
At 6 weeks of age our final evaluation is a temperament test which is the final piece of the puzzle that allows us to match the compatibility of our puppies to our families. Along this journey we will chat to you about your lifestyle, energy levels and the attributes your are wanting in your new puppy.
Puppy Visits
Once puppies have arrived you are welcome to visit weekly from 3 weeks of age. At 6 weeks of age we have a meet and greet where you will find out which puppy has been matched to you.
